We are settling in day by day in Arizona and realizing that the quality of outdoor life is just what our family loves. We spend most of our days outdoors, exploring Arizona together and just playing. We enjoy trying the new resturants in Old Town Scottsdale as a family, Lilliana and Kam vote any resturant with dippy for their chips (salsa and Guacamole), to be the best. We enjoy getting out to the festivities in Old Town Scottsdale on the weekend and the different cultural festivities for the kids to be apart of. We enjoying hiking the Gateway Mountain Trail with the kids, it makes it really nice that it is right across the street from our community. The views are breathtaking and the kids love all the rocks and cactus to look at from the backpacks. Lilliana can almost hike one of the 2 mile trails all by herself. We think she could run it if we let her. Michael and I enjoy getting ours runs in everyday as a family...the kids don't enjoy it as much but nothing an ipad or sucker can't cure so we can get that time together. The moutain views in our community are so great that we don't feel the need to ever leave it to run.
Papa and Gram just spent a month with us here in Scottsdale, and we had such a fun time. Pape and Gram did alot of hiking and motorcycle riding while they were here. We loved seeing them so happy just getting out and doing there thing.We miss them so much.
Kam yells for Pape everytime he sees an airplane up in the sky or a motorcycle rider. Lilliana asks why they had to go home and doesn't understand that we aren't close to them, like we once were in Chicago. It took them a few days to stop asking about them everytime we would get home from somewhere or going to bed. It is so great that they love them so much and got that time with them. As for Michael and I we got so used to Pape taking out the garbage we missed both days this week for setting out the garbage! Oh boy! I miss 5:00 when we would all start cooking an amazing meal whhile having appetizers and drinks...and not to mention Pape and Gram doing the cleanup after dinner while we put the kids down was so nice. I only wish I could get all my siblings here...it would be a dream.
Lilliana and Kam are growing everyday. Lilliana is an angel, so caring and full of life. She is loving watching Kam grow and be able to teach him things. She is an amazing big sister. They play so great together. They are partners in crime;) Lilliana is loving ballet and tap a look forward to it everyweek. She will be starting soccer again soon and will be taking swim lessons this summer at our house with some of her friends. Lilliana will be 4 soon and we can't believe it. Some things she loves are: Horses, babies, dress up, imaginary play, crafts, painting, playing instruments (she wants Kam to get her a drum set for her birthday),playing Dr, watching and helping people fix things,riding her bike, balance bike and roller skating. Lilliana just loves to be with family and friends. Lilliana hitalmost 30lbs! She is getting so tall too!
Kam is such an independant little man and reminds us so much of Lilliana at this age. He is full of life, has a great personality and is so funny. He is talking in small sentences and counts. Kam loves Trains, Balls (just beware he has an amazing arm and usually aims for the head), airplanes and books. Kam immatates everything we say and do. He watches Lilliana with such love and excitment. We feel so blessed how well they get along. Kam is 23lbs now and we feel like he just grew like a weed. Kam is very ticklish we can hardly brush or cut his hair anywhere near his ears, and stay away from his toes;) Kam loves to play cooking and dress up with Lilliana and thinks it so funny when we pretend eat and drink. Kam is great at making messes and he loves to get his hands on everything, only good thing he helps clean up at the end of the day...our house looks alittle like hoarders until 5:00.
Aspen is doing great! He is recovered from his surgery and is loving basking in the sun.
