"Remember to be gentle with yourself and others. We are all children of chance and none can say why some fields will blossom while others lay brown beneath the August sun. Care for those around you. Look past your differences. Their dreams are no less than yours, their choices no more easily made. And give, give in any way you can, of whatever you posses. To give is to love. To withhold is to wither. Care less for your harvest than for how it is shared and your life will have meaning and your heart will have peace." ~ Kent Nerburn

Happy Summer and 26 months Lilliana!

We can't believe it has been 2 months since our little angel turned 2! Time is flying and our new blessing will be here in 4 weeks...or whenever she/he would like to grace us with its presence. We are all unbelievebly excited and so thankful to have this opportunity to bring another soul into this beautiful world. There is nothing better or more fullfilling than this...except the day I met and married Michael:)
We have had an amazing summer, we celebrated Daddy's birthday with a homemade cake, decorated by Lilliana and ice cream! We traveled to Charlotte, NC where we got to see Nana, Pop, Uncle Patrick, Aunt Jackie and Lilliana's cousin JW. It was great getting to see them all and watching Lilliana and JW. Lilliana enjoyed spending time with all her cousins (most) for Pape's birthday and Fathers Day! They have so much fun together and all are very excited for their new cousin to join the crew! We love it Easton will ask me "Aunt Mandy did you go get your baby yet." It makes me tear up, that he is just waiting and wondering when it will be here. Lilliana lives to see Gavin, Easton, baby Cal and Grammi and Pape. We have to be careful telling her when she is going to see them. She refuses naps, food anything until she gets to see them...Aspen too! Same goes for when Michael travels, she has a really hard time when he is gone, doesn't want to sleep, or wakes up wanting him and wondering when he will be back and makes sure she includes him in everything. "Mommy we have to wait for Daddy for dinner." It is so amazing how aware and how much love/uncertainty they feel when one is missing from the daily routine. She just loves her Daddy, there is no words, laugh or big enough smile to explain what I see and feel when those two are together. It makes me feel so good as a Mommy, knowing that someday she will look for a man just like her Daddy.
Lilliana is 24 pounds now and 3 feet 2 inches tall. She quickly went from a size 4 to 6 in her shoes...don't even think she wore the 5's we had! Her vocabulary and talking is amazing. We have full conversations with her, she understands direction and she understands when something isn't making us happy. She is definetly persistant, has a go getter attitude, and is independent. It takes alot to get her to back down from something she is passionate about or wants. We say she has great sales skills. She will give you so many options that sound so good...you can't possibly say no. We just can't help but laugh. Lilliana loves to sing and dance. Imaginary play is filled in our day. She likes to imagine we are at the zoo and car shows in the house. Playing with her girl and boy babies is her favorite. She will change them, get them ready for bed, tell us they are going to park or store and literally act like she is feeding them. She has true emotion and feeling for living things and pretend things. She wanted to share her fruit snacks with the horses at the horse barn and really wasn't happy when I told her that horses couldn't have them. She just can't comprehend that, why she gets a "special treat" and they don't. Lilliana loves painting pictures for people (lots for the baby already and she will tell me this one is for girl and this one for boy). She asked me this morning if "God brought me her baby yet." She is going to be alittle Mommy to her sister or brother.
Maybe next post baby will be here!
