"Remember to be gentle with yourself and others. We are all children of chance and none can say why some fields will blossom while others lay brown beneath the August sun. Care for those around you. Look past your differences. Their dreams are no less than yours, their choices no more easily made. And give, give in any way you can, of whatever you posses. To give is to love. To withhold is to wither. Care less for your harvest than for how it is shared and your life will have meaning and your heart will have peace." ~ Kent Nerburn

Settling in, in Arizona

Happy Fall 2012! What a change of Fall it has been for us.  We have almost been living in Arizona for 2 months, time is flying.  We are all adjusting and loving it here. The kids are making friends and enjoying the amenities of our community center, which is about a block away from our house.  Michael's office is up and running and doing great.  Our family came together to pick paint colors and decorate his office. We are all so proud of it and proud of Michael and the work he has been putting in.
Lilliana is loving the weather here.  She is 3 1/2,  28 pounds now and growing taller everyday. Lilliana is enjoying Gymnastics, Dance, Soccer and a Holiday cooking class at our community center.  She is meeting friends and enjoying her days with Mommy, Daddy and Kam.  She loves going hiking for rocks and picking up trash that people throw on the ground:)  She is an angel and just so caring.  Lilliana loves being a big sister and thinks it is so cool that Kam can walk like her and communicate alittle with her.  She is so proud of him and his accomplishments.  Lilliana enjoys doing crafts, playing in the sandbox, reading, climbing, hiking and now swimming in the hot pool.  She loves to use her imagination and talk/play with her imaginary friends...Hazel, Phoebe  Sawyers...and many more.
Kam is almost 15 months old!  He is walking, talking and screeching:) Kam loves to explore by himself.  He is very independent and loves his personal space.  He does love to hug and kiss and when he does it is the best feeling. Kam is really trying to talk, so lately if he doesn't get our attention, what he wants or get across what he is trying to say he will screech.  We love his determination and confidence, but the screeching by 3:00 gets a little hard.  We can remember Lilliana doing this too and we just had to try to help her find her words.  Kam loves to read his Chicago Cubs book that our neighbors gave to him.  He points to all the balls and pictures and mumbles.  He loves all balls and loves to throw them or anything. His first word was Dada.  Now he is saying ball, baseball (beball), Aspen (Ass), Mommy (mummy), Get Down, Papa, Lilliana (lana), Colton and darn.  He is repeating everything we say it is so funny!  Kam loves to make us laugh and smile.  He will spin or turn in circles till so dizzy and we will just laugh like crazy.  Kam loves to follow Lilliana and play in the sandbox with her.  He watches and adores her...Aspen too. Kam doesn't need much entertaining, he is happy wandering and playing his own thing. Michael and I try to play with him and he will stay for a min and then go off going what he wants by himself.  We love watching him he is so self entertaining and the things he comes up with to do are great.  Kam is eating everything we eat and had his first taste of ice cream recently and sadly he isn't a sweets person, but the ice cream he liked but wasn't wasting anytime sitting there.
Michael and I are enjoying our runs together with the kids in the morning and having family time before he starts his day.  We have been enjoying time with our friends and their families her in Arizona.  We hosted a pizza night and our first AZ Halloween party.  Both were so fun and most importantly the kiddos loved it.
Lilliana was Alice in Wonderland for Halloween this year.  She hasn't seen the movie but liked the Alice costume in a magazine.  Lilliana also picked mine, Michaels and Kams costume. I was the Queen of hearts, Michael was the Mad Hatter and Kam was the Rabbit.
We love and miss you all and pray for you all everyday.  We are excited to be heading to Chicago for Thanksgiving  and Virginia for Christmas.  Next post hopefully wont take as long to get to, the weather here stops you from getting anything done:)
xoxoxo,
Michael, Amanda, Lilliana, Kam and Aspen
