"Remember to be gentle with yourself and others. We are all children of chance and none can say why some fields will blossom while others lay brown beneath the August sun. Care for those around you. Look past your differences. Their dreams are no less than yours, their choices no more easily made. And give, give in any way you can, of whatever you posses. To give is to love. To withhold is to wither. Care less for your harvest than for how it is shared and your life will have meaning and your heart will have peace." ~ Kent Nerburn

Our First Few Months Living in Arizona

Merry Christmas!
It's been a wonderful but busy last 4 months, so this blog is going to be alot of special events in one:)
We moved to Arizona on September 10, 2012 and have been enjoying getting settled into our new home and new environment.  We enjoy running together as a family in the mornings and spending our days outside.
Lilliana has been loving Arizona, she misses her friends and cousins back home in Chicago.  We make sure that we make it a priority to talk about all of them and keep pictures and memories of them up.  She has been participating in Gymnastics, Tap/Jazz/Ballet and Soccer up at our Community Center.  Lilliana loves to go swimming in the "warmie" pool and swinging at the park at our Community Center.  Lilliana has been meeting lots of new friends and neighbors that she enjoys spending time with.  Her best friend is her brother, Lilliana and Kam love to play together.  Lilliana loves to go jump in his bed with him when he wakes up in the morning and from naps.  We love the sound of their giggles when they play together, there is nothing like it.  Lilliana has grown and inch since we have moved out to Arizona.  She is just beautiful, kind and so caring.
Kam is such a charmer.  He has also grown an inch since we moved out here and is now Running!  He has been talking so much.  He now looks at us and has this whole mumbling conversation. He also is very confident and will tell you...try to say what he wants.  If he wants to get down from something he will say "Get Down," in the most adorable voice ever. Kam is very independent but will def come and find us and give the best hugs and kisses ever.  Kam loves to play with whatever Lilliana is playing with and watches her with the biggest, curious eyes.  He adores her.  Whenever Lilliana is away Kam looks for her and kinda looks lost.  She is his sidekick.  Kam is enjoying painting with us and he loves to read his books.  His favorites are his Chicago Cubs fan book with pictures of baseballs, his new word too and Good Night Moon, he loves the big red balloon.  Kam loves to throw anything and everything...preferably balls.  He has a pretty good arm. Kam loves to kiss with this big open mouth and is biting too so it is alittle hard to know when Kam is coming in for a wet kiss or bite.  He has four teeth on the bottom and four on the top and just broke his two bottom molars and two front bottom fangs....has to be painful so we try not to get to upset with the biting for now:) He loves to swing on our new swing set and can play in our sandbox all day if you let him. His favorite words are ball, get down, Mama, Dada, Colton, Ella, Lilliana and Babe.  Kam loves to give kisses and just started smacking his lips and walking towards you for a kiss.  Kam is repeating everything we say and anybody else who is around.  He is very cuddly, yet very independant and strong willed.  He is running everywhere and loves to be outside.
We had a wonderful Halloween, we celebrated with our friends at a gathering at our home with good food, good treats, trick or treating and great time together as families.  We traveled home to Chicago for 11 days to visit family.  It was a very relaxing trip and it was fun to be with the family one on one for so many days.  We went to Bass Pro Shop Christmas, played with Cousins, had play dates with old friends and went hiking in Pape and Grams backyard...not to forget Grams and Aunt Sarah's yummy food they spoiled us.  Kiddos weathered the flu while in Chicago and on the way home to Arizona. They def were down for the count and got lots of snuggles.
This Monday we will travel to Virginia to spend time with family for the Holidays.  We are so excited to see everyone and meet the new babies in the family.  It has been too long since we have seen everyone in VA!  We will also get to see Aunt Kristin and Uncle Andy from Texas as well as Daddy's friends.  What a fun week it will be.
This Christmas we are spending our Christmas giving.  We have adopted a family from the Salvation Army and will be taking them our gifts on Christmas Eve.  On Christmas we will also be giving our time as a family to those in need.  Lilliana and Kam got three toys that they haven't played with in awhile and we are going to donate them to a single mothers group. We are very excited about these new traditions.
Aspen had to have surgery when we returned from Chicago due to bone and gum disease.  He had 12 teeth pulled and a wart removed from his neck.  He did great and is only allowed to eat soft things. Poor guy can't have his favorite potato chips:)
Here are the many pictures from over the past few months.
xoxo,
