"Remember to be gentle with yourself and others. We are all children of chance and none can say why some fields will blossom while others lay brown beneath the August sun. Care for those around you. Look past your differences. Their dreams are no less than yours, their choices no more easily made. And give, give in any way you can, of whatever you posses. To give is to love. To withhold is to wither. Care less for your harvest than for how it is shared and your life will have meaning and your heart will have peace." ~ Kent Nerburn

March 2013

For those of you in the Midwest, Happy Spring!  Its been a definite change of season living here, we find ourselves checking the weather constantly still to make sure our cookout isn't going to get rained on or our sweet girls birthday party.  It is so nice to be able to enjoy the weather.  Michael, I and the kiddos have been enjoying swimming, hiking and bike riding lately.  Lilliana and Kam are becoming great swimmers and hikers...not so much yet with the biking they don't like to be confined that long.  Lilliana is gaining confidence to put her face in the water while Kam just dunks his face right in and pulls out with this shocked looked on his face, like what the heck just happened.  He def tests the limits, still very cautious but def curious.  Lilliana is the neighborhood mayor...as we call her.  She talks to everyone, says hi to everyone and puts a smile on every ones face...and not to mention if you stop and talk to her she is going to ask you what your doing and how your day is going. Sounds alittle like her Mommy and Daddy.  Kam too, he loves to run down the sidewalk yelling "hey boys" or "Essa (Elisa), Eya (Ella), Emmi.  He is loving his new word "Nice to meet you."  Kam is talking so much.  He is talking in very short sentences now and loves to count to 10.  He gets this real serious tone and just starts belting out his numbers.  He thinks its the funniest thing when he toots and loves to tell us whenever his diaper comes off "toye," for toilet.  We then all run excitedly to the toilet and put Kam on and when we do he wiggles off and starts running naked around the house laughing.  We all think it is so funny. Kam is def independent, reminds us a lot of Lilliana. He is going through the hitting, biting, screaming at the top of his lungs if he doesn't get what he wants or if he is frustrated.  We can remember thinking how difficult it was and still is with Kam when Lilliana went through this stage.  This too shall pass though.  Kam is very nurturing and loves to share his food. We see he is more of a ladies man, when boys are around we see his aggressive side come uout, like he is protecting Lilliana and I, or its a boy thing and they just love to shove each other to say hello?  Lilliana enjoys her brother so much.  She takes such great care of him. They are playing so nicely and it makes us smile to see how much fun they have together and the laughter throughout the house all day is like a drug.  Def our drug of choice:)
We have been celebrating all month for our birthdays by doing something special to recognize God for giving us this gift of life.  Lilliana is having a horse/pony, princess and dolphin party up at our Community Center on Saturday with some of her friends from school and neighbors.  It will def. be such a beautiful day but we will def feel alittle empty without our families here to celebrate with us.  We miss you all so much. As for Mommy, I have chosen a Hawaiian theme for my celebration on Tuesday with the family.  Michael and the kiddos have a special night planned. Birthdays are just so much fun and such a gift.  We are still trying to get over how much Lilliana has grown in the last few months and the changes her baby has made.  She looks so big...it must be a 4 year old thing.
She is only going up from here, just loving every minute with these little angels. Lots of love to you all and we love you all.
Michael, Amanda, Lilliana, Kam and Aspen
