Happy 15 month birthday Lilliana! What a great month it has been for us. Lilliana is learning new things everyday. She loves to imitate and have silly time. She is very cautious of new people, but she surprised us all when she ran to GrandBob when he arrived to visit and gave him a GIANT HUG:) She has a good memory and good instincts about people, just like her Gramie and Mommy (that's what Gramie thinks). She loves to run now and when she does it she is just too cute, she tips her head back and extends her chin forward and takes off running yelling "run, run, run." She loves to see people smile and laugh. The more playful you are, the better for her. Lilliana has been going to sleep earlier (could it have gotten earlier! She loves her sleep!) 6:30p.m. but is now waking up at 6:00 a.m, ready to go! We miss her at night but understand this is what she needs and the best thing for her. She still takes her nap from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00-1:30. She is eating 3 meals a day and 2-3 snacks. She loves fresh squeezed orange juice and actually watermelon juice. We saw her squeezing the juice out of her watermelon and decided to make juice with her. Lilliana loves to cook with us and help around the house. She is enjoying watering and planting flowers with us. She loves the new wind chime next to her bird feeder. She sits on the swing Nana gave us and watches the birdies and listens to the calming noise of the wind chime. We enjoy this relaxation too:)
Lilliana is calling Aspen a new name now...Apie. It is so cute to here her yelling for him and us when she wakes up. She adores him. Lilliana has a very loud and demanding tone to her voice so it has been a work in progress as we try to model a softer tone. We know she doesn't mean to or even understand what demanding or loud/soft is but we figured we better start showing her better ways to use her voice. She tends to scare people in the grocery store when they are caught off guard. We think it is funny, but we aren't sure if they do. She is just too funny and wants to be able to say and do everything. She takes after her Mommy with her deep and loud voice:) She has lots of charisma and we just love it.
She can get up and down the stairs now and off the couch on her own! She loves to climb and is fearless. She is giving big kisses now and when she hugs us, it is a full wrap around hug and she sometimes pats our back:) It's the most amazing feeling, like them all.
Lilliana is cutting her 3rd molar as we speak and is having a very trying time with these molars. We will be so content when she isn't in pain anymore. She is eating lots of crushed up icy cones:)
Lilliana loves to sing songs with us and play peek a boo with Daddy.Lilliana is showing signs of wanting to be toliet trained and we are having papa build her steps so she can try it when she feels confident and ready on her own.
Lilliana is very intune with her feelings and what she wants as well as others. If another child is crying she will go up to them and smile and try to hug them, she even sometimes cries too. She says "Oh baby cry." She loves other babies. We have to watch her when they are in their car seat or on the ground, she will try to hug them by laying on them and squeezing them. If they are in their car seat, she loves to rock them, sometimes that rock is alittle rough:) She is such a caring little girl and helpful. We are happy that she is so calm with other babies and she is very confident when Mommy is holding or paying attention to another baby or child.
We had a fun time spending a weekend at Grammie and Papa's house. We went to Aunt Sarah and Uncle Shawn's house to play with Easton and Gavin and go swimming. The girls cooked dinner together (I entertained the kids, acting like a pirate:) ) It was a great weekend.
Daddy got to drive his first Nascar race car at the Chicago Land Raceway. It was his birthday gift from Lilliana and I. The smile on his face was unexplainable. We enjoyed having friends and family there to watch him. Lilliana loved the cars too and would yell "oohh" when they would go by.
Lilliana is running in the run 4 hunger with Mommy and Daddy tomorrow and we are very excited to be helping this cause together as a family. We loved having GrandBob here for a week and miss him already. Here are some pictures of our fun July with family and friends. Happy August:)
