"Remember to be gentle with yourself and others. We are all children of chance and none can say why some fields will blossom while others lay brown beneath the August sun. Care for those around you. Look past your differences. Their dreams are no less than yours, their choices no more easily made. And give, give in any way you can, of whatever you posses. To give is to love. To withhold is to wither. Care less for your harvest than for how it is shared and your life will have meaning and your heart will have peace." ~ Kent Nerburn

Michael, Lilliana and I just returned from our first family R&R Weekend for Michael's company. What an amazing weekend it was! We had so much fun as a family visiting with our friends and playing in the pool and ocean. We loved having Marissa there too:) Lilliana just adores her. Lilliana still loves the ocean, sand and pool! She was fearless running for the ocean with so much excitement, it was awesome! We enjoyed seeing all of our new baby friends and spending time with them. Lilliana loved hugging and loving all of them.
Lilliana's vocabulary is growing everyday and she is now saying 2-3 word sentences. We are in amazement of her absorbant mind! She remembers things and repeats words that she hears being used. She told Daddy lastnight at dinner when we were talking about our day "Dada walk Macy," meaning she went for a walk with her friend Macy that day. She says "Mommy hold you," when she wants to be help. Or "Dada/Mommy Look, when she wants to see something." "Mom peees help," Mommy cup coffee." "Wooo Easton,' when she see's a firetruck, either because she hears me tell her how her cousin Easton likes firetrucks or his Daddy is a firefighter. " Lilliana is enjoying letting you know when she is having a moment (potty or poop), but hasn't shown an interest for the toliet for awhile. Lilliana likes to help put her clothes away after folding the laundry with us and when she gets dressed or undressed she puts her clothes in the hamper in her room, sometimes she will drop them on the floor and look at us smiling, waiting for us to start laughing with her. She likes to say "Amen" with us during meals and if we forget she will quickly yells AMEN and bows her nead and grabs for our hands! Her favorite is when Daddy says it and thanks God for the bugs and ducks and gymbo class, she starts laughing. Yesterday, while cooking dinner, Lilliana was on the floor with Aspen acting like a puppy and she saw that Aspen didn't have any water in his bowl. She got up and brought the bowl to me and said "Momma, Apee wa wa." My eyes just filled up with tears as I told her how thoughtful and caring that was of her and how blessed Ape is to have a sister like her. She just amazed me with her caringness for Aspen. Aspen has been letting Lilliana hug him and pet him now, which is so adorable to see.
Lilliana's new favorite food is Raisins and Raisin Toast. She could eat Raisins all day! She has started rejecting vegtables, but we know its just a stage and she will someday eat them again. We are just going with the flow. She had her first bite of pizza lastnight when Daddy's workers were over and she loved it, I don't think she could get it in her mouth fast enough.
Lilliana's molars have all popped through! YEAH!! She is in a size 4 shoe now and still 9-12 months clothes and size 3 diaper (I know lots of stats, but someday when Lilliana has her own family and she is wondering about herself at this stage she will have some contections from this blog) Her hair is almost white blonde and her eyes are blue like the ocean!
This past weekend Lilliana got to ride her first Pony ride at Ethans first birthday party. She loved it! She also enjoyed feeding all the animals and seeing all her friends. She also had her first taste of chocolate....cake and m&m....both not by my will, but oh well. She ate threw the bag of M&M's and a small blue one was the winner of the day:) She had blue all over her face and a big smile! So Ethans party will be a day to remember forever:)
When Grandbob was in town he played the Mickey Mouse Club for Lilliana in his car and since Grandbob left Lilliana hasn't stopped talking about Mickey Mouse and the Hot Dog Song. She isn't interested in the show, just the part where they do the Hot Dog song and dance. FUNNY!We went to the library and checked out every Mickey Mouse book and CD and she just loves to sit in her chair and look at Mickey! Michael and I walk around the house singing "Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggidy dog." and mimicing the characters, Lilliana loves it. We can't wait to go to Disney with her! Maybe she is ready?
Here are some pictures of our August:) Happy 16 Month birthday Lilliana, you are our absolute sunshine!
